Meet Celine R., a member of the Workforce Strategy Team supporting the Global Financial Crimes and Consumer Protection organization. She joined PayPal 13 years ago as a Team Lead in Risk and since then, has taken on various roles within the organization.
She is currently responsible for developing and executing key strategies to optimize resources, ensuring teams are set up for success. Based in Ireland, her work focuses on creating an environment where teams can effectively deliver on their goals. In addition to her core responsibilities, she co-leads the Employee Resource Group, Unity, a group working to drive positive culture change and advance gender equity for the Ireland chapter.
In celebration of Women’s History Month, we asked Celine to share how she helps to accelerate action at PayPal.

This year's theme is Accelerate Action which urges us to take decisive steps to create an inclusive world where gender equity is an expectation, not an aspiration. How are you accelerating action toward gender equity in your workplace, home, or community?
“At PayPal, I accelerate gender equity through my work and leadership in employee resource groups. As EMEA COO for Unity, I drive cultural change through education, communication, and collaboration.
Passionate about development, I became a certified executive coach to help individuals, especially women, overcome workplace barriers. I also mentor through the Cherie Blair Foundation, supporting women entrepreneurs in developing countries.
At home, I teach my kids about gender equity and inclusion, reinforcing that we all play a role in creating a fairer world.”
As you think about your career path, who stands out as a woman who made a positive impact through mentorship in your life?
“A few women have had a lasting impact on my career through mentorship. One was a senior leader early in my journey who helped me navigate career growth and personal development. Her advice was simple yet powerful: stay authentic, embrace opportunities beyond my comfort zone, and see setbacks as part of the journey. Another influential mentor came through my executive coaching studies, helping me build confidence and develop the skills to coach and support others, especially women and individuals from underrepresented backgrounds.
I’ve also learned from incredible women leaders at PayPal who have shown me the value of collaboration, resilience, and lifting others up. Their mentorship has shaped my career, and I now strive to pass on the same support and wisdom to others.”
How do you hope your leadership will create a lasting impact on women's advancement?
“I aim to be a strong role model who drives meaningful culture change by championing collaboration, mentorship, and sponsorship. My goal is to empower women, younger generations, and outsiders to find their voice, step into leadership, and drive change. I hope to inspire others to lead with confidence and purpose, creating a more inclusive and supportive workplace for future generations.”
